Paddy Selection 01

Prior to purchasing a specific batch of paddy, it undergoes a series of rigorous tests. This involves examination by a skilled team of selectors and paddy specialists, testing for moisture content, conducting kett-tests, assessing field admixture, and more. Subsequently, samples are processed in our mini mill to evaluate yield, conduct kett-tests, and analyze post-cooking characteristics. GGRM's technical teams offer guidance to farmers regarding optimal fertilizer and pesticide application, aiming to cultivate healthy, chemical residue-free rice grains.

Following harvest and husking, numerous field samples are collected and scrutinized in our laboratories for final selection. Upon procurement, the chosen stock is carefully stored for aging until the rice reaches maturity. Every stock is assigned a unique number, and meticulous records are maintained throughout. Paddy selection demands significant investment of time, expertise, and resources by rice mills, as the quality of the final product hinges greatly on the procured paddy. While some mills may opt for shortcuts by purchasing semi-processed rice from brokers, this invariably leads to compromises in quality that cannot be overlooked

Husking 02

The Basmati paddy chosen undergoes a deliberate process of natural sun-drying to reach the ideal moisture level for husking. Spread across expansive fields during daylight hours, the paddy is left to gradually reduce its moisture content under the sun's rays. This gradual drying method is crucial for preventing thermal cracks in the rice grains, which could lead to broken grains in subsequent stages of processing.

After sun-drying, the paddy is transported to Tahir Rice mills, where it undergoes cleaning, de-husking, and grading to produce Brown Rice. During this process, only the outer husk is removed, leaving behind the germ and bran layer, thus retaining most of the rice's nutritional value. The bran layer, rich in minerals and vitamins, contributes to the health benefits of the rice. By opting for minimal processing, GGRM ensures that the Basmati rice maintains its natural nutritional integrity.

Brown Rice 03

Once the paddy undergoes drying, including natural sun-drying, it arrives at the mills. Tahir Rice is fully equipped to process this paddy into brown rice. Our brown rice undergoes meticulous cleaning, grading, and color sorting before export. This ensures that it meets the specifications of reprocessing plants in Europe, where it will be converted into white rice according to their requirements. We adhere strictly to the standards set by the European Union when supplying brown rice to Europe.

White Rice04

At Tahir Rice Mills, we operate our own advanced processing unit featuring state-of-the-art machinery, including the latest color sort facility. White rice, the milled form of rice, undergoes a meticulous milling process wherein the husk and bran are entirely removed. This process, achieved through cutting-edge machinery, results in what is commonly referred to as polished rice. As a result, the flavor, texture, and appearance of the rice are transformed. Tahir Rice Mills prides itself on producing premium-quality, aromatic, fragrant white rice that cooks exceptionally well and promotes good health. We supply our products to valued customers worldwide, offering personalized branding and packaging options to meet their specific needs.

Parboiled Rice05

At Tahir Rice Mills, we operate our own state-of-the-art parboiled plant, equipped with advanced modern production technology. Our technical staff employs specialized methodologies for parboiling paddy rice, a hydrothermal treatment process that enhances milling, nutritional, and organoleptic properties of the rice. This method serves as an alternative approach to extend rice storage duration, reduce broken grains, increase head rice yield, and minimize nutritional loss during the polishing process.

Parboiled rice undergoes a meticulous three-step parboiling process involving soaking, steaming, and drying. During parboiling, rough rice is steeped in cold or warm water, then subjected to steam under pressure or boiling water to gelatinize starch with minimal grain swelling.

At Tahir Rice Mills, we take pride in producing fragrant and flavorful parboiled rice, delivering it to our customers worldwide. Our commitment to quality ensures that our customers receive top-notch parboiled rice that meets their expectations.
